The Kwara State Government has imposed a ban on specific vehicle types from using Ahmadu Bello Way in Ilorin’s GRA district.
Effective immediately, tricycles, commercial motorcycles, taxis, trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles are restricted from accessing the newly rehabilitated road.
According to the Ministry of Works and Transport, fines of up to ₦50,000 will be imposed on violators.
“Unlike the “No Parking” sign, the restriction “NOT ALLOWED” sign along Ahmadu Bello way bears a stiffer fine of ₦50,000 for violation of the order, and other measures shall be employed to ensure compliance,” the statement said.
Signages are being installed to mark restricted areas. Officials emphasize that the move aims to boost safety and prevent unauthorized road usage, encouraging public cooperation for better traffic management.
