Timileyin Ajayi, the suspected killer of Salome Adaidu, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of culpable homicide, which is punishable by death under Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.
Ajayi was arraigned at the High Court of Justice in Lafia before Justice Simon Aboki. Despite initially admitting to the crime, claiming he killed Adaidu after discovering she was cheating on him, Ajayi pleaded not guilty during the arraignment.
The case has drawn significant attention, especially given the gruesome nature of the crime, with Ajayi found in possession of Adaidu’s severed head. The trial will continue as the court examines the evidence and testimonies presented.
