At least 90 people have been confirmed dead after a petrol tanker exploded in Majiya Town, Taura local government area of Jigawa State.
The explosion occurred late on Tuesday after the tanker driver lost control near Khadija University.
Many of the victims had gathered around the accident scene, despite police warnings to stay clear of such incidents.
Additionally, 50 people are receiving treatment for injuries. A mass burial for the victims is scheduled, and the injured are being treated at Ringim General Hospital.
