To increase security in the area, the police departments of Lagos and Ogun States have started working together to patrol the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
This was revealed in a post published on his X account on Thursday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police.
According to Hundeyin, the coordinated patrols will encompass the Sagamu Interchange to Kara Bridge.
“As part of efforts to enhance security on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Police Command in Lagos State and its Ogun State counterpart have commenced joint patrols of Kara Bridge to Sagamu Interchange.
“The patrol teams from the Lagos command will comprise mainly the Rapid Response Squad (RRS),” he said.
Drivers were urged by Hundeyin not to be alarmed by the copious police presence on the route.
“Motorists are, therefore, enjoined not to panic at the sight of increased police patrols, particularly the RRS.
“This is a proactive measure to prevent crime and criminality on this stretch of the road, ” the Force image maker said.
