The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that investigative journalist David Hundeyin and Michael Alade are believed to be accomplices of Bristol Isaac, also known as PIDOMNigeria, in connection with allegations of leaking classified documents, fraud, sedition, and tax evasion.
According to Police Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, PIDOMNigeria was arrested following a petition from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Adejobi stated that when operatives of the National Cybercrime Centre attempted to arrest PIDOM at a hotel in Port Harcourt, he resisted by locking himself in, destroying his phone, and flushing it down the toilet to conceal evidence.
The investigation also uncovered suspicious activities between PIDOMNigeria, Hundeyin, and Alade, including alleged cyber terrorism funding through cryptocurrency.
PIDOM is also accused of illegally accessing and distributing restricted government documents, which jeopardized national security.
Adejobi stressed that the Nigerian Police are committed to maintaining public order and national security. He confirmed that investigations into the involvement of Hundeyin and Alade are ongoing, with efforts underway to interrogate them.
The arrest of PIDOM sparked concern on social media, with Hundeyin raising the alarm about his disappearance and sharing messages regarding his situation.
Earlier, it was reported that PIDOM was arraigned and remanded in Kuje Prison by an Abuja-based Federal High Court.
