Governors, traditional rulers in closed door meeting

Nigeria Governors' Forum

Members of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) are currently holding their monthly meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

This edition is however one-of-a-kind as it involves Traditional Rulers under the aegis of National Traditional Council of Nigeria (NCTRN).

Those sighted at the meeting are the chairman of NGF, AbdulRahman AbdulRazak (Kwara); Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta); Dapo Abiodun, (Ogun); Seyi Makinde (Oyo); Agbu Kefas (Taraba); Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), and Uba Sani (Kaduna).

The prominent traditional rulers include Ọọ̀ni of Ifẹ̀, Oba Adéyẹyè Ẹnitàn Ògúnwùsì – Ọ̀jájá II; Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III and Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubakar, among others.

The meeting, held behind closed doors, reportedly focuses on Nigeria’s economic challenges. Governors may be seeking feedback from traditional rulers to create policies aimed at addressing the economic crisis.
