Food items and other essentials were distributed by the National Association of Polytechnic Students to elderly residents in the Oluwo area of Abeokuta and non-teaching staff of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, Ogun State.
The Director of Special Duties of NAPS, David Ebunoluwa, in collaboration with Clever Dee Foundation coordinated the palliative distribution to support the less privileged to cushion the hardship effects caused by the current financial crisis.
Speaking at the event on Monday, the NAPS director, who also serve as the CEO of the Clever Dee Foundation, expressed how the economic downturn is affecting families and individuals and the polytechnic community.
This, he said, motivated them work together to promote social justice and improve welfare of those who are most vulnerable in society.
Mr Taiwo Ogunyinka, the Deputy Rector of Gateway ICT Polytechnic Sapade showed appreciations on behalf of the management for the food items and other essentials presented as it will help lessen the difficulties.
