The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to Nigerians regarding the activities of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.
According to NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the faith-based organization has been using NAFDAC’s name to deceive the public by advertising and selling unregistered products, such as Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, claiming they can cure barrenness and other ailments.
In a statement released on Sunday, NAFDAC clarified that none of these products are registered with the agency.
The ministry had falsely claimed that their products were NAFDAC-approved, leading people to inquire about their legitimacy at NAFDAC offices.
Upon receiving numerous complaints, NAFDAC launched an investigation into the ministry’s activities, visiting their facility in Delta State. The ministry’s officials initially denied producing the Miracle Water and Soap, despite evidence to the contrary, and failed to cooperate with NAFDAC’s investigation.
Subsequently, NAFDAC sealed the production facility, Globod Table Water, which was linked to the illegal production of these unregistered products.
NAFDAC has urged the public to stop purchasing these Miracle products, as they are not scientifically verified or registered.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health and warned faith organizations against producing unregulated products without proper approval.
Prof. Adeyeye concluded by reassuring Nigerians that NAFDAC will continue its investigation and take necessary actions to protect consumers from potentially harmful products.
