The Department of State Services (DSS) has granted administrative bail to Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), following his arrest earlier on Monday.
Pro-democracy activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, announced Ajaero’s release in a tweet on Monday night, describing the situation as a victory over the “fascist regime” of President Bola Tinubu.
Ajaero had been arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja while en route to the United Kingdom for an official engagement.
The reasons for his arrest have not been fully disclosed.
