Divide Tithes; Distribute Church Proceeds to the Needy; Pastor Charges Clergy

Pastor Giwa

The leader of the Awaiting the Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Pastor Adewale Giwa, has urged all religious leaders in Nigeria to develop the practice of giving a sizable amount of tithes and church earnings to the underprivileged in light of the country’s economic hardships.

The cleric made this claim on Monday while appearing on the radio show “Agbami Oselu,” which was broadcast on Fresh 102.9FM in Akure, Ondo State.

Giwa, who asked worshippers to pay their tithes with diligence, acknowledged that it is impossible to overstate the significance of providing for the hungry and destitute during difficult times.

“We are required to contribute 10% of the profit that we generate from our business dealings or from our salaries,” he declared. This is found in Malachi 3:10 in the Bible.

Nevertheless, there is no need for the debate regarding tithing. This is taking place right now because a few of God’s most prominent servants have abandoned their calling and the gospel.

“I am not against tithing,” he declared. Deuteronomy 14:28–29 lists four individuals for whom tithes are intended. The fatherless, foreigners, widows, and Levites. Thus, tithing is not limited to pastors. But the way we clerics interpret it now is what’s driving public discontent.

In addition, Pastor Giwa called on product merchants to cease raising prices for their goods in order to alleviate the suffering of the general public. He blamed President Bola Tinubu’s elimination of gasoline subsidies for the hardships faced by Nigerians.

Regarding the security risks facing the nation, the cleric stated that the inadequate road system throughout the nation is escalating instability, impeding progress, and making life more challenging for the populace.

“One of the things making us feel insecure is the state of our roads. As you can see, they abduct their victims by hiding at every dangerous spot on the route. We can’t ask a robber to run a bank, so it’s all up to the government.

This is due to allegations made by well-known Nigerians Alimodu Sheriff and Muhammad, who ran against our current vice president in the 2023 presidential race, that he was financing terrorism in the country.

But as you can see, we disregarded their charges, and as a result, we are currently dealing with the fallout.

“Two, it was claimed that infamous bandit Kabir Sokoto was chosen in the vice president’s lodge upon his detention. I think we should have wasted no time in jumping in, looking into, and prosecuting anyone discovered to be in violation of the law since our security architecture had already offered all of these. However, we chose not to take action.
