48 Kwara State University (KWASU) students and two citizens of the Malete region of the state have been arrested by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal Command for alleged offenses that may have involved online fraud.
The arrest followed reliable information about the increasing prevalence of “yahoo-yahoo” commerce in the state, particularly on college campuses.
The EFCC jumped into action in an attempt to rid the state of corruption and other evildoings by “yahoo-yahoo boys.”
Following days of observation, agents of the Commission closed in on the suspects and apprehended them in their various hideouts on Wednesday following distinct investigations.
Idris Yekini, Ibrahim Oluwatosin, Oladele Israel, Qudus Temitope, Adewunmi Israel, Lukman Uthman, Alamin Ibitoye, Usman Sadiq, Musbau Waris, Ayantola Segun, Adeshina Taheeb, Mustapha Alamin, Usman Harun, and Oladimeji Oseni are the suspects.
Aransiola Oluwaseun, Joseph Samuel, Adewuyi Quadri, Adebayo Olamilekan, Ogunride Gabriel, Abolaji Ismail, Ogundele Ejiro, Musa Olawale, Isah Oluwatumishe, Olaosebikan Martins, Mazeed Ayomide, Oyeniyi Michael, Moses Bright, Oladipo Victor, Shehu Abdugafar, Abdulmalik Timileyin, Muhammad Nabil, Adebayo Qudus, and Owoeye Adeyanju are a few of the others.
The individuals that round out the list are Ismail Abdulbasit, Oluyedun Khalid, Moshood Lawal, Utman Abayomi, Aransiola Joshua, Olaleye Gbenga, Victor Kayode, Samad Olarewaju, Raheem Ayomide, and Oluyedun Khalid. The two Malete residents are Babalola Razaq and Godwin Ouna Ejika.
