The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has granted bail to Oriyomi Hamzat, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, Naomi Silekunola, and Abdullahi Fasasi, the Principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun.
The three were implicated in the tragic stampede at a children’s festive party in December 2024, which claimed the lives of at least 35 children.
Justice Kamorudeen Olawoyin delivered the ruling on Monday, granting Oriyomi Hamzat bail at ₦10 million with the condition of providing two sureties.
The court also barred his media organization, Agidigbo FM, from broadcasting news related to the case.
The defendants presented their bail applications last Tuesday, arguing that they posed no flight risk and were ready to cooperate with the investigation.
