Andrew Wynne, the British national accused by the Nigeria Police of plotting to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s administration, has denied the allegations.
Speaking from the UK on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wynne expressed surprise at being labeled a fugitive and stated he was unaware of the charges against him.
Earlier, the Nigeria Police placed a ₦20 million bounty on Wynne and his alleged accomplice, Lucky Obiyan, for reportedly organizing sleeper cells to destabilize the government.
Wynne, who has been visiting Nigeria for 25 years and has operated a bookshop in Abuja for seven years, claimed he had never been of interest to the security forces during this time.
Wynne offered to cooperate with Nigerian authorities, suggesting discussions via WhatsApp or Zoom, or even meeting officials at the Nigerian High Commission in London.
His wife also spoke on the matter, describing the allegations as a deliberate attempt to target her husband unjustly.
