Social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is set to appear before the House of Representatives on Monday over bribery allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This follows a viral audio clip in which crossdresser Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with ₦15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.
In the same audio, Bobrisky also claimed that he avoided serving his six-month jail sentence in Kirikiri prison, staying in a lodge instead, thanks to arrangements made by his “godfather.”
The Audio has, however, been described as AI Generated by Bobrisky’s counsel in a ₦1bn defamation lawsuit filed against VeryDarkMan
The House of Representatives has invited VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede as part of its probe into the allegations.
VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed on Sunday that his client would attend the hearing, expressing their commitment to cooperating with the investigation.
Adeyanju stated, “We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client, @thatverydarkman, to assist in investigations into allegations by Bobrisky that he/she paid ₦15 million to have money laundering charges dropped by EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment.”
Earlier it was reported that Bobrisky spent only three weeks in prison despite being sentenced to six months for Naira abuse.
Days ago, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board suspended two officers from the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre in Lagos following allegations related to Bobrisky.
