A judge of the Upper Customary Court in Kaduna State, Janet Gimba, who was kidnapped by bandits along with her four children, has regained freedom.
However, three of her children are still in the custody of the abductors.
Her husband Musa Gimba confirmed the judge’s release but said that the woman was released without her three children.
He disclosed that the bandits are demanding ₦150 million ransom within three days, threatening to kill them if the money is not given to them.
News VEO reported that the judge and her children were abducted from their home in the Mahuta area on June 23.
The assailants, numbering about 15, attacked the residence at night while her husband, Dr. Musa Gimba Dutse, a medical doctor, was away on duty.
The abductors killed her 14-year-old son, Victor Gimba, on July 2 after the family failed to pay the ransom.
