On Friday night, an unspecified number of bandits stormed Gidan Busa in Doka Ward of Kachia local government area in Kaduna State, killing two locals and kidnapping sixteen others.
Five people in the neighborhood, according to a source who did not want to have his name publicized, were being treated at an unidentified local medical institution for gunshot wounds.
This is happening in the wake of the death of Isyaku Boderi, a notorious bandit leader who was allegedly responsible for a number of high-profile incidents, such as the kidnapping of Yauri College girls in Kebbi State, the attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), and the murder and abduction of numerous villagers in both Niger and Kaduna States.
On Wednesday, in the Bada/Riyawa general areas of Chikun and Igabi LGAs in Kaduna State, troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, murdered the bandit boss, Boderi.
Following a heavy gunfight, military troops attacked and neutralized Boderi and his associates.
But the bandits returned to Gidan Busa on Friday night, firing intermittently, killing two and capturing at least sixteen locals.
