Army refutes claims of Mass Killing in South-East

Nigerian Army

The hierarchy of the Nigerian Army has debunked allegations of mass killing leveled against its troops in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, dismissed the claim by a certain Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Ekpa, in a viral video accused the men of the Nigerian Army of carrying out mass killing of innocent Igbos and dumping them in a river.

However, the force clarified that the incident took place in the South-West geopolitical zone, not the South East, and that there was no evidence of individuals being shot at or killed in the river.
