Oba Adejuyigbe Adefunmi II, the esteemed ruler of Oyotunji African Village, was allegedly fatally stabbed by his sister during a heated dispute in South Carolina, USA.
The 47-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect, 53-year-old Akiba Kasale Meredith, fled the scene on foot following the stabbing.
Authorities verified the fatal incident at Oyotunji African Village in Beaufort County.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the stabbing on Monday around 2:45 p.m. at the village on Bryant Lane.
Meredith was apprehended shortly afterward and charged with murder. She was detained at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing.
