Dr. Ademola Makinde’s nomination as the New Owa of Igbajo has been accepted by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. Recounted that Oba Famodun was chosen by the town’s kingmakers and appointed by the previous administration.
Adeleke, however, disapproved of his choice.
In a statement released on Monday morning through his Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, Adeleke stated that the new Owa’s appointment was decided upon during the Executive Meeting held in the Exco Chambers in accordance with custom, chieftaincy law, and due procedure.
“At the Executive Meeting, Governor Ademola Adeleke congratulated the newly appointed Owa of Igbajo and assigned him the responsibility of mending the scars from the selection process by guaranteeing inclusive traditional governance. “I implore him to initiate peace and reinstate the honor and soundness of the customary establishment,” he declared.
