The government is committed to addressing cases such as the attack carried out by armed youth gangs in the state called the Shila boys, using dangerous weapons to rob people of the valuables with the use of commercial tricycles, says Deputy Governor, Prof Kaletapwa Farautu-George on Tuesday.
Usman Mohammed, 19, was detained by the police last week and is believed to be responsible for the majority of the robberies carried out by the Shila group.
The suspect, armed with cutlass, and another individual, who is currently at large attacked and took a woman’s phone.
A set of gang yet to be known also attacked churchgoers dispossessing over 20 persons of their phones.
