Joshua Rogers, a journalist and reporter with Channels Television, who was abducted at his residence in Rumuosi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has been freed.
He was said to have been released around 10 p.m. on Friday unharmed, barely 24 hours after being abducted on Thursday.
The news of his release was confirmed by Charles Oporum, a colleague of Joshua confirmed in the late hours of Friday.
“Yes, he has been released about an hour ago, and has reunited with his family,” Oporum said.
His employer, Channels Television released a statement confirming his freedom.
The statement reads: “Channels Television reporter, Joshua Rogers, who was abducted last night in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been freed.
“We thank our viewers and all those who expressed concern over the unfortunate incident.”
