The MTN Y’ellopreneur Initiative stands as a marker of empowerment, dedicated to fostering women’s entrepreneurship by providing avenues for capacity building and access to essential capital through loans, grants, and advisory services. The MTN Nigeria Foundation commenced the pilot phase of the Y’ellopreneur Initiative in 2022, marking a significant step towards empowering women in business. In Phase One, 4,711 female entrepreneurs underwent comprehensive training in business management and development fundamentals. This training served as a springboard, enabling these women to compete for the opportunity to secure equipment loans/grants of up to N2 million each to propel the growth of their businesses. Notably, equipment loans totaling over N94 million were disbursed to 50 deserving female entrepreneurs. Upon the successful repayment of the loans, these Y’ellopreneurs will receive an additional 25% of the loan value as grants, further reinforcing their journey towards business success and sustainability.
