Position Available: Contract Engineer
Job Location: Nigeria
Requirements:
Interested candidates for the position of Contract Engineer are expected to meet the following criteria:
- Fluency in English language.
- Educational background of at least a Degree or Master’s Level in Engineering, Law, or Business.
- Demonstrable experience and capacity in managing highly complex contracts, including Drilling & Wells, EPSCC Contracts, and associated services, from end to end.
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in drafting and negotiation of complex contracts, such as Drilling & Wells, EPSCC, and Logistics contracts, as well as experience in contractual strategy preparation, Call for Tender management, and submission of Recommendation to Award.
- Minimum of 10 years of working experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Good knowledge of contractual legal frameworks under English/Nigerian Law, and a deep understanding of operational risks in the Oil & Gas industry and contractual mechanisms to manage such risks.
- Preferably a member of a reputable Supply Chain professional body (e.g., CIPS, IACCM).
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments in a dynamic business environment.
- Sound knowledge of Legal, Commercial, and Insurance aspects of contracts.
- Experience in sourcing negotiations, supplier management, and contract management.
- Ability to challenge others constructively and negotiate with internal peers and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with NUIMS, NCDMB processes would be advantageous.
- Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
- Reasonable knowledge of SAP tool.
