This visionary initiative endured as a platform uniting private sector leaders and senior public sector officials to deliberate on the trajectory of the Nigerian economy. Three years later, in 1996, NESG emerged and was formally incorporated as a non-profit, non-partisan private sector organization. NESG’s mandate is to advocate for and spearhead the transformation of the Nigerian economy into a globally competitive, open, and private sector-led entity.

Job Overview
The Grants Analyst holds a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the grant application process, ensuring adherence to grant requirements, and providing analytical support to optimize grant funding endeavors. The ideal candidate should exhibit robust analytical, communication, project management, and organizational skills. Detail-oriented, they must collaborate effectively with diverse teams, possessing an in-depth understanding of grant processes, regulations, and compliance requisites.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Grants Office team to assess the call of applications and pre-award grant processes.
- Review grantees’ monthly reports and diligently follow up on grant disbursements.
Maintain and ensure accurate updates to the Grants Management tracker in collaboration with the Grants Officer. - Assist in managing Grants Unit operations, documentation, engagements with Donors and partners, and template updates.
- Craft high-quality Letters of Interest, grant proposals, consultancy proposals, fundraising letters, reports, and other documentation within tight submission deadlines.
- Drive reform initiatives from ideation to realization, spanning diverse policy and thematic areas aligned with NESG’s mandate.
- Collaborate with Policy Commissions/Roundtables/Communities of Practice and subject specialists to develop innovative concept notes for grant funding.
- Support the Grants Operations Officer in maintaining an efficient end-to-end grant management system.
- Participate in spot checks and quarterly review meetings with grantees and other stakeholders.
- Organize official grant files for audits.
- Undertake other duties as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Master’s Degree / Bachelor’s Degree in any Business, Science, or related field.
- Possession of a project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE 2) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in using basic functions of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in conducting policy-oriented research and analysis.
- Expertise in working with institutional donors.
- Familiarity with development issues, trends, challenges, opportunities, and implications.
- Capability to conduct systematic analyses of public policy issues.
- Proficiency in developing logical frameworks.
- Ability to deliver quality work within tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
