President Asíwájú Bọ́lá Ahmed Tinúbú has approved automatic employment for 774 fellows of the National Health Programme.
The announcement was made during the presidential launch of the programme in Abuja on Thursday.

- Employment Approval: The 774 fellows, who were selected through a merit-based process from over 359,000 applicants, will be absorbed into the workforce after completing their one-year tenure of monitoring Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

- Presidential Remarks: President Tinubu emphasized the importance of healthcare as a pillar of national development, stating, “No country can prosper if its people are unhealthy. Sustainable development is only possible with a strong healthcare system, and you are the pillars.”
- Ministerial Support: The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, urged federal, state, and local governments to integrate the fellows into the workforce to support universal health coverage.
