Possible Haziness and Cloudiness in The Country, NIMET Warns People Suffering From Respiratory Diseases

According to the The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) there is a high  possibility of Haziness and Cloudiness nationwide from Monday to Wednesday, the agency has therefore warned Nigerians most especially people suffering from respiratory diseases such as asthma and the likes to take adequate precaution during this period in order to stay safe and avoid escalating their health conditions.

NIMET’S weather outlook which was released on Sunday In Abuja forecasts, explained specifically the states that will be affected and those that will not be affected and also to what degree each state will be affected

Speaking about the northern states, it states that there will be a dust haze of a horizontal visibility range of about 2km to 5km over northern and north central states across the country ” Except Benue, Kogi, and Kwara, where patches of cloud in the hazy atmosphere are anticipated. Patches of clouds are expected over the Inland of the South throughout the forecast period.

Also while talking extensively about what should be expected in the southern states, the weather outlook report states that “Patches of clouds are expected in the morning over the Inland of the South and the Coast.

“Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Edo, Imo, Enugu, Lagos, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa states”

On ways to maintain good health during the period of these 3 days, the agency advised the general public, most especially people who are suffering from respiratory diseases as well as adults and the elderly as well on how to stay healthy. The agency  said “People with respiratory issues should be cautious of the present weather situation. Children and the elderly should wear warm clothing at night.

“Special attention should be paid to your skin, eyes, and lips. Moisturise your skin and lips as much as possible.”

Airline operators were also advised to stay updated with the latest weather report and condition in order to maintain optimum safety.
