The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has reopened its verification portal, allowing nurses and midwives to submit requests for verification online.
This follows a temporary closure that left many nurses, particularly those abroad, in difficult situations regarding visa and employment regulations.
The portal’s reopening on Friday marks a significant development for nurses and midwives seeking to process their verification requests, with an announcement on the portal confirming, “Good news, verification requests are back online.”
In February 2024, the NMCN introduced new guidelines requiring nurses to have at least two years of post-qualification experience and a letter of good standing from their place of work and training institutions.
These guidelines led to protests from nurses across several states, with petitions and a court case, which was later withdrawn.
You can check out the Verification Requirements via the designated portal before proceeding to complete your verification process.
