Nigerian UK based Students unveil app that offers healthcare services

Three Nigerian students presently undergoing their Masters programme in the United Kingdom, have unveiled a startup app called Sandfortcare to ensure that the elderly and the aged in Nigeria get quality healthcare services.

Damilola Olaopa, the founder of the startup came up with the idea after he lost his dad in Nigeria on October 1, 2023.

He was working as a healthcare assistant in the UK taking care of people’s families but could not take care of his dad due to his absence from home.

Sandfortcare is a healthcare startup committed to provide care and support service to parents of Nigerians immigrants residing in the UK so that the children in UK can have peace of mind knowing their parents are in good health condition. It is co-founded by Hameed Adulrahaman and Isatayo Samuel.

The startup is incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 as a private company, limited by shares and registered in Scotland. It is for Nigerians in Diaspora, especially in the UK and there are plans ongoing to expand it across Europe and other North America countries like US and Canada.

The parents in Nigeria who are beneficiaries gets a support plan, regular health checks, meal planning, nutrition, remote consultation and management medication for a monthly subscription while the sponsor who is a family member resident in the UK receive a timely parent wellness report.
