Eight table water factories and ten unregistered bakeries in the Bonny Local Government Area has been closed down by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control during their parade to eradicate fake and unhygienic product.
The operation took three days and was assisted by the policemen of Bonny Division headquarters and NAFDAC security officials.
Investigations and complaints from consumers from the island in regards to this substandard product prompt them to move round the town in search of defaulters. It was discover that some of these products were produce in a shabby, unhygienic environment with rusted facilities and the workers were not appropriately dressed.
The NAFDAC Director, South-South Zone, Chukwuma Oligbo, spoke on this fake factories not using filtration equipment for their water production and using a quake local made machine to fill up the jars instead of making use of the automated process recommended by NAFDAC.

The Zonal director has advised the defaulters to use the waiver the Director General provide from January to March to renew their license NAFDAC will be on constant parade to guide producers to the do the needful and always follow the NAFDAC regulations.
