Speaking on MTV Live, Grammy-winning South African singer, Tyla has recounted how she delayed submitting her debut album to her record label because of Nigerian superstar, Tems because she is the ‘Queen’. A statement that has created a lot of buzz and garnered alot of attention online.
Speaking more on this memory, She said she has been working on her debut album for almost three years and when was about to submit the album to her record label, Tems sent her vocals and she told them to hold on. She said:
“I was about to submit the album then Tems sent her verse over and I was like wait, Tems just sent a song, I mean she’s the Queen,”
It’s important to note that Tyla released her eponymous debut album on Friday, 22nd March 2024. The album equally contains a Tems feature titled, ‘No. 1.’, a fan’s favourite
Tyla had recently won her first and well deserved Grammy Award for her global hit single “Water” in the recently concluded Grammys.
