Stormzy receives nine-month driving ban

British rapper Stormzy, whose real name is Michael Ebenazer Owuo Junior, has been banned from driving for nine months after being caught using a mobile phone while driving his Rolls-Royce in West Kensington, London.

The incident occurred on March 7, 2024, and was observed by an undercover police officer.

Stormzy, who already had six penalty points on his license from previous offenses, pleaded guilty to the charges. In addition to the driving ban, he was fined £2,010 and received six more penalty points on his license.

District Judge Andrew Sweet at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court described Stormzy’s actions as “dangerous and irresponsible”.
