Renowned American singer and actress, Selena Gomez has revealed her plan to adopt children if she remains unmarried by the age of 35.
The 31-year-old expressed that she formulated this idea after being single for five years prior to starting a relationship with producer and songwriter, Benny Blanco, last year.
In a recent discussion with Time Magazine, the ex-Disney star shared her initial struggle with loneliness and the coping mechanisms that eventually made her feel more content about not being in a relationship.
“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” she said.
“A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”
The singer mentioned that her current relationship with Blanco unfolded unexpectedly.
