‘Return the tithes’ – Pastor Adeboye urged

Pastor Enoch Adeboye

Maverick singer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has responded to Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s recent apology regarding his comments on tithing.

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, had apologized for previously stating that those who don’t pay tithes would not make it to heaven. He clarified, “I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, ‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God.’”

Reacting to this, Charly Boy took to social media, saying Adeboye’s apology is meaningless unless he promises to return the tithes collected from people over the years. He criticized what he sees as manipulation in churches and called out certain practices.

He wrote, “Your apology don’t mean shit unless you promise to return the tithe money them give you for mumu people wey wan bribe dia way to heaven. Stop giving your CONGREGATION ridiculous Lambas. Since your announcement decades ago, that people should trow away their TVs, I had always known that your way no pure.”

Charly Boy also took a swipe at hypocritical behavior in churches, remarking, “The most bitter, judgmental, envious, and wicked people all go to church on Sundays,” concluding that Adeboye’s apology was insincere, calling it “nonsense.”
