Portable surrenders to Police

Habeeb 'Portable' Okikiola

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.

This follows an ongoing police investigation into allegations of violent conduct and assault on government officials in Ogun State.

Portable, who was declared wanted by the police, turned himself in on Wednesday.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the surrender and stated that the Ogun State Police Command has been contacted to take him into custody.

The singer was recently declared wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The incident involved three officials who were on an enforcement mission at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.

Portable had previously claimed that he was receiving treatment for mental health issues at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, and pleaded with Nigerians and the Ogun State Government following the police’s declaration of him as a wanted individual.
