Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P, one-half of the famous musical duo Psquare, has written an open letter to his twin brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), in response to recent interviews where Paul seemingly discredited Peter’s contributions to their group’s success.
In the letter, Peter expresses his disappointment at Paul’s constant claims of having written and sung the majority of Psquare’s songs, while downplaying Peter’s contributions.
He points out that despite Paul’s assertions, many of their hits were the result of their combined efforts, highlighting that Psquare’s success was rooted in their teamwork and unity.
Peter also reflects on their past, noting how they reconciled in November 2021 after a public breakup in 2017, only for things to take another negative turn recently.
He addresses the strain this ongoing feud has placed on their relationship and the damage it has done to their legacy as one of Africa’s most celebrated music groups.
He emphasizes that their fans fell in love with Psquare for their unique synergy, not for individual talents, and laments that Paul’s actions have turned them into a “laughingstock” instead of reclaiming their position in the music industry.
Peter closes the letter by wishing Paul well, while also expressing his desire to continue his music career in peace.
Peter also mentions addressing a separate issue involving the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) later in the day, promising more details to come.
