Despite being the King of Pop with countless admirers, Michael Jackson didn’t have the romantic life people might have expected.

Though he sang about wanting to “rock with” someone at 21, it took another 14 years before, according to his ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, he had his first intimate experience.

Jackson was famously married to Lisa Marie, Elvis Presley’s daughter, before marrying Debbie Rowe, the mother of his children, Paris and Prince. Lisa Marie and Jackson had a whirlwind romance, marrying in 1994 just months after they began dating.

Now, the details of their relationship are revealed in Lisa Marie’s posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, finished by her daughter, Riley Keough, after Lisa Marie’s sudden death in January 2023 at 54.

Riley explained her mother’s motivation behind the book: “Because my mother was Elvis Presley’s daughter, she was constantly talked about… What she wanted to do in her memoir… is to reveal the core of who she was… not just the headline version.”

In the memoir, Lisa Marie recalls Jackson confessing his love for her while she was still married to Danny Keough, the father of her two children, Riley and Benjamin. The King of Pop declared his feelings, saying he wanted to marry her and have children. After splitting with Danny Keough, Lisa Marie got together with Jackson.

In a surprising revelation, Lisa Marie claimed Jackson told her he was still a virgin when they officially began their relationship. Despite earlier relationships with celebrities like Tatum O’Neal, Brooke Shields, and Madonna, Jackson allegedly had never gone beyond a kiss with any of them. However, their marriage lasted only two years, ending in divorce in 1996.

Jackson tragically passed away in 2009, while Lisa Marie died in January 2023 due to complications from a past surgery.
