Veteran comedian Ali Baba has spoken out against men who pressure their wives to quit their jobs simply because they earn more.
Reacting to a trending story of a man who made his wife resign for this reason, Ali Baba questioned the authenticity of such narratives and criticized the insecurities of men who tie their self-worth to financial status.
In a post on his Instagram, Ali Baba stated that if anyone should quit their job in such a scenario, it should be the man, not the woman. He remarked that financial insecurity shouldn’t drive a man’s sense of confidence.
Drawing comparisons, he highlighted how individuals like Stedman Graham, who is in a relationship with billionaire Oprah Winfrey, wouldn’t expect their partners to quit their jobs because of earnings disparity.
“So, Stedman will tell Oprah Winfrey to resign. Who is bringing up these men with self esteem that is defined by financial status?, he asked.
Ali Baba also challenged men to rise above such insecurities, urging them to improve their financial standing rather than feeling threatened by their partners’ success.
