Singer Jaywon Juwonlo has criticized Burna Boy, a colleague, for saying that no one had helped him get into the entertainment business.
Jaywon expressed shock at such a comment in an interview with Teju Babyface, calling it absurd.
He emphasized how important it is for those who came before you to clear the path for others in the profession, and he asked how artists could grow and find inspiration if no one else did.
Jaywon compared Burna Boy’s claim to rejecting that he was inspired by any business leaders when he was growing up.
He remarked: “Burna is the same thing, talented, and everything. It’s like Burna saying no one paved the way for him. How do you say that? It’s a very wrong thing to say. It is madness, it’s like saying when you were little till no one inspired you.
“People will say someone inspired you, is different from someone opening doors for you. Tell me, if someone didn’t do it first, where did people from behind learn it from.”
