I never ordered Anyone to Vote for Tinubu – Comedian Seyi Law

Sèyí Law

Seyi Law has explained his stance on the 2023 General Elections in a recent interview with The Honest Bunch podcast, stressing that at the time, he was simply interested in showcasing Tinubu’s accomplishments in Lagos. Furthermore, he emphasized that he did not expressly support him for president.

“I never advocated for Tinubu’s election. Go and check. I write what I know he did in Lagos and I’ll say, ‘My candidate or the person I’m voting for is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.’ He started, “I didn’t tell you to vote for him.

The comedian emphasized further that, in the election, he was only one of millions of Nigerians who supported President Tinubu and the All Progressive Congress Party (APC). He made it clear that all he did was cast his ballot in favor of the cause.
“Seyi Law did not make the 8.9 million that voted for him,” he continued. Among those numbers, I am but a number. Yes, I do have some sway over certain individuals. Perhaps. I took advantage of my power to further my convictions. And I think that this individual is the one who might lead us to the Nigeria that I desire for us to be.”

Seyi Law said in 2023 that his family was receiving death threats as a result of his public support of Tinubu and the APC, which caused him to face harsh criticism.

The comedian refuted musician Eedris Abdukareem’s assertions in February 2024 that he regretted choosing to vote for Tinubu, making it clear that the joke was all that it was. Seyi Law reaffirmed his steadfast support for the administration in the face of Nigeria’s economic downturn and indignation from the country’s citizens.

In addition, he just sent President Tinubu a thorough open letter outlining the economic downturn and pleading with him to implement the essential reforms to improve Nigeria for everybody.
