According to Nigerian singer Khaid, he has never before given or received a Valentine’s Day gift.
He revealed this in a podcast chat with Phyna, the Big Brother Naija star. Phyna declared, during the celebration of Valentine’s Day, that the day of love is just like any other day. Khaid, on the other hand, claimed that since he is unmarried, he hasn’t observed the Day of Love.
“I’ve never celebrated Valentine’s Day based on the fact that I’ve never had someone who celebrates it.
I’ve never received anything on Valentine’s Day or been surprised,” Khaid started.
Khaid admitted that his approach to Valentine’s Day celebrations has changed after he became single. The musician explained that his present lack of enthusiasm was because, even in a relationship, he and his girlfriend never celebrated the day.
Nonetheless, he expressed his willingness to celebrate the day he enters a relationship again.
“I don’t have a girlfriend, but it would be fun to try and see if I could. If I had one and saw that my partner enjoys Valentine’s Day or is really excited about it, then I would. You would want to do anything to please them, you know. However, Valentine’s Day was never really a thing, even when I had one,” he remarked.
Khaid went on to emphasize that, as he doesn’t have a partner, his priorities are his music.
