“I became S3xually Inactive Due to Enlarged Prostate” – Veteran Actor Kola Oyewo

Kola Oyewo

Kola Oyewo, a veteran actor, has shared his story of overcoming prostate enlargement.
Urine exits the body through the prostate gland, which has grown larger in response to an enlarged prostate.

Nearly all men have prostate enlargement as they age.
Reduced kidney function, bladder stones, and difficulties urinating can all be symptoms of the illness.

In a widely shared video, renowned actor Peter Fatomilola and Kunle Afod pay Oyewo a visit to his house to inquire about his well-being.

The 77-year-old actor said he first became aware that he was having trouble passing out pee in July 2019 while chatting with his visitors.

Oyewo said that following a battery of examinations and scans, he was informed that he had a prostate enlargement and that surgery was necessary to preserve his life.

Speaking in Yoruba, the actor stated he was on the verge of passing out during one of the surgeries. He also mentioned that he had previously resolved not to have any more operations, citing the excision of his scrota as the reason for this decision.
He claimed that to enable urinating, the medical professionals also performed a urinary tract bypass.

Oyewo claimed that for the procedures to save his life, he had to give up the capacity to have sex.

“I feel better now,” the actor declared, adding that he is now well enough to work and visit filming sites.

Actress Foluke Daramola, according to Oyewo, was ordered not to plead for money on his behalf because his kids could take care of him.

“I had an enlarged prostate,” he declared. I started having trouble urinating or would frequently urinate on myself in July 2019.

“After visiting the hospital and undergoing multiple tests, I was informed that my prostate was enlarging.

“I went to see our family physician in Ilaramokin, and he advised me to get more tests done. They informed me that I would be having surgery and that I was extremely fortunate because the illness was fatal.

“During that period, my spouse was also unwell; she had suffered a stroke in 2017.” I went back to the hospital after telling her about the surgery I was told to have.

“They cut my stomach and put something in there to help me urinate.” They informed me that it was to keep me from dying right away.

“I was also told that I should get another procedure to quit having sex. I told them to go ahead since my kids were grown-ups with their own children and I no longer required it.

“My two kids were with me when I had the procedure later. I was instructed to get another X-ray at the teaching hospital after that, and that’s what nearly killed me.

I wouldn’t have done it if I had known that after doing it, I wouldn’t be able to urinate from my penis. Since then, I’ve felt better and even visited a movie set. I can work now, but it won’t be challenging.

“I told Foluke Daramola not to raise any issues or plead with people for money on my behalf when she visited me. I took care of myself, and my kids are taking care of me.

After joining the Oyin Adejobi theater troupe, Oyewo played his debut role as Adejare in “Orogun Adedigba” and began his professional acting career in 1964.
