Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has announced that the winner of Season 9 will receive a grand prize of ₦100 million and a new SUV.
This year’s prize is ₦20 million less than the ₦120 million awarded in Season 8, won by Kogi State-born Ilebaye Odiniya.
At a press conference in Lagos, Busola Tejumola, MultiChoice’s executive head of content and West Africa channels, revealed that the show will premiere on Sunday, July 28, 2024, and will air across all Africa Magic channels starting at 7 p.m. WAT.
She said, “The ninth season of Big Brother Naija will be going beyond drama; we will be bringing in different blends of unique entertainment.
“The show will run from July 28 to October 6.”
One of the new twists this season is that housemates will be entering the house in pairs and participating in challenges together.
This is a departure from previous seasons where housemates entered the house as individuals.
“The challenging aspect of the show will be that the housemates will be going into the house in pairs and doing some of the house challenges in pairs”, she said.
Urging fans to watch, Tejumola said “Everyone curious about the theme should watch out for the premiere on Sunday, July 28. The show holds lots of fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists.”
However, no reason was given for the reduction in Grand Prize.
