Dr. Arube Otor, a 55-year-old highlife musician from Delta State, popularly known as Isoko Fela One, is set to marry three women simultaneously.
The wedding ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Anglican Church Field in London Base, Uzere Kingdom, Isoko South Local Government Area.
In a widely circulated wedding flier, Arube is pictured wearing matching outfits with his three prospective brides: Oghenekome, Ewoma, and Oghenekaro, all from Delta State.
Confirming the event, Arube’s foster son and one of the listed RSVPs, Emperor Efih (Oscar), assured that the ceremony would proceed as planned. Initially, Arube intended to marry four women, but one bride withdrew for personal reasons.
Efih explained that Arube’s decision was partially influenced by financial prudence. “About 20 years ago, Arube married two women. One later divorced him, leaving him with a single wife. To minimize costs, he decided to marry four women at once this year. However, one backed out,” he stated.
Arube, a highly respected music icon in Delta State, has been a prominent figure in the Isoko highlife music genre for over three decades. Before fully committing to his musical career, he worked as a driver and later established his own dance band, Arube, around 12 years ago. Since then, he has released over 10 albums.
“None of the brides are from his hometown. Two of the three women are already mothers to his children, while the third is yet to conceive. He completed the traditional marriage rites for all three on the same day last year,” Efih added.
Arube hails from Uzere Kingdom in Isoko South LGA, while his brides come from different regions.
Oghenekome is from Lagos-Iyede in Ndokwa East LGA, Ewoma is from Oruamudhu in Ozoro Kingdom, Isoko North LGA, and Oghenekaro is from Uroto Quarter, also in Ozoro Kingdom, Isoko North LGA, Delta State.
