The Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has announced plans to donate the sum of N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria.The singer revealed that he would make this said donation through his foundation, The David Adeleke Foundation.
Davido who is quite known for his philanthropist acts had earlier equally donated to Nigerian Orphanages l, in 2022 , the singer donated a substantial sum of 237 million Naira to orphanages, emphasizing his desire to utilize his platform for altruistic purposes. The funds donated were raised during his birthday celebration in 2022 through his foundation.
Commenting via his account, Davido said: “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria… as my yearly contribution to the Nation.. details of disbursement tomorrow.”
After this statement, Davido promised to reveal details of the disbursement tomorrow, (Wednesday).
David Adedeji Adeleke OON, who is known professionally as Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter and record producer. He is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the 21st century, and is credited alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid for popularizing the genre globally.
