The day started in a sobering mood as Five artistes of Nigerian descent – David Adeleke, aka, Davido; Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy; Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake; Olamide Adedeji, aka Baddo; and Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, aka Ayra Starr; all lost out of the Grammy in their combined 10 nominations across different award categories.
It was noted to be a bad experience as none of these artists secured a single award in all their nominated categories in the recently concluded 66th Grammy Awards held in los Angeles California. This came as a surprise to many as a lot of their fans though largely pitted against one another believed at least one of them will definitely bag an award.
