Speaking in the latest episode of the Deep Drive podcast hosted by comedian, Teju Babyface, Nollywood Legend Funsho Adeolu has claimed that any actor who ventures into politics was never an actor in the first place.
Fusho said on the podcast: “A lot of these people are not actors. An actor shall not be a politician.” A statement which has been controversial amongst Netizens as there are divergent stands on such a position as held by Funsho.
However, when equally asked: “I know one who is a politician in Lagos, are you saying he is not an actor?” clearly alluding to the former Actor turn politician, Desmond Elliot who is a Nigerian director, and politician. He was elected as a lawmaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Surulere Constituency, in the 11 April 2015 Nigerian General Elections.
He responded with: “Yes. I don’t consider him as an actor. An actor should not be in politics. If you’re an actor who is in politics, you were never an actor.”
