Following Nigeria’s defeat, Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Teniola Apata professionally known as Teni who is well known to be a die-hard fan of Super Eagles since the competition kickstarted was seen in a sad state.
The singer released a video where she is seen weeping profusely after Ivory Caist defeated Nigeria in the AFCON Final, In the video shared via her verified Instagram page, Teni cries uncontrollably asking for oxygen among others as her body system is not the same any longer due to the loss in the AFCON final against Ivory Coast.
The match took place at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Ivory Coast takes home $7 million for lifting the trophy. While the runners-up, Nigeria, gets $4 million while the two losing semi-finalists, South Africa and Democratic Republic of the Congo, each receive $2.5 million.
The Super Eagles were the first to score in the first half of the game but the Elephants of Ivory Coast equalized in the second half and later went on to scored a second goal leading to Nigeria’s Defeat as they took the runner up position in the tournament.
