The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu has commissioned a Digital Economy Center and E-learning facilities she donated to Ogbomosho Girls High School.
Mrs Tinubu was represented by Tamunominini Makinde wife of Oyo State governor who spoke on the role of technology in advancing gender equality to education by making sure women participate actively in the digital revolution to enable them release their potentials, skills to contribute in growing the economy and social progress of the nation.
The event was a collaborative effort of NITDA and Renewed Hope Initiative of President Tinubu to make technology accessible for women and girls to strive in the digital transformation and will continue to extends its support to grow more centers in other states across Nigeria. The NITDA is willing to expand digital knowledge and equip other ICT centers which one of Bauchi centers is being commission currently.
Technology is a tool to shape digital economy through education, commerce, communication and healthcare if our women are dedicated in the continuous training and exposure to it to create more opportunities for employment and boost businesses. She however, praise the women and girls on the improvement they are making and the continuity to maximize their dream and nurture their unique talents and to never stop learning.
The principal of the school, Mrs Zainab Odekunle shows her appreciation and the impact such project will play in the life of the teachers and student for efficient education.
