TETFund

According to a statement released by TETfund on Wednesday, Prof. Tahir Mamman, the Minister of Education, said as much in Abuja during a visit to Innov8 Hub with important players, including Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary of TETfund.

The Federal Government announced that it would open more than 24 innovation and skills centers around the nation through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund. Prototype development and fabrication, technology transfer, knowledge and skill impartation, and innovation start-up incubator are all centered around Innov8.

In an effort to increase research and create employable graduates, TETFund is presently collaborating with Innov8 Hub to provide mentorship and hands-on training for young people and academics in Nigeria to possess the necessary ideas and aptitude to pick up the fundamental skills needed to advance and lead fulfilling lives.

Speaking during the tour, Mammam stated that the goal of setting up 24 skill centers around the nation was to guarantee that all Nigerians, no matter where they may be, would have equal opportunity. He also expressed gratitude to TETfund and the Innov8 hub for providing students and researchers from universities, polytechnics, and colleges with the means to do highly applicable and influential research.

We will collaborate with the industry, just as they now do with TETFund, as what I have witnessed here is a huge source of inspiration.

This location is privately held, but it is closely managed by a government agency in the field of education, but regretted the absence of the off-takers, claiming that they were failing to fulfill their responsibility. Mammam pledged that this time, the government will make sure to close the gap between the industries and the researchers.

“In this case, I will be the main proponent. Making sure that some of our individuals in appropriate ministry positions visit here to see what this site is doing and the potential it offers our nation, I’m going to invite some of the major entrepreneurs to come check it out.

Additionally, we will impart skills and training to our students. Together, we will create a large number of young Nigerians who are currently living as IDPs and elsewhere to be given training.
