OCP Africa donates N10m to support agricultural education

OCP Africa, a subsidiary of phosphate producer OCP Group has donated N10 million to the Brightest University Fund, a crowdsourcing project that aids Nigeria’s most talented students studying agricultural science.

Oluwatoba Asana, OCP Africa Nigeria Country Manager, stated their mission was to change young people’s perception of agricultural science and its vital role in the society.

OCP Africa’s investment is committed to sustain agricultural development across Africa by empowering young Nigerians with the necessary skills, knowledge needed to tackle environmental and agricultural challenges.

The top 81 are currently competing for scholarships out of over 16,000 pupils who participated, and the competition will be broadcasted on various channels across Africa and Nigeria starting from April 6th, 2024.

A contribution made by the group, moves the project closer to its N100 million goal which will be shared transparently based on the participants performance in the 13-week televised competition. The N10 million donation has confirm the OCP Africa’s commitment which will create a life-changing opportunity for the future agricultural leaders.
